A study of the author's frequently challenged works for youth

Welcome to my final project website for INFO 267!

I've chosen to study Ibram X. Kendi, a well-known public figure, a NYT best-selling author, a professor, and an outspoken advocate for racial justice in America. Many of his books have been banned or challenged, especially in high school libraries.

I selected Kendi and his works for this project because I wanted to understand more fully why books about Black history and books that deal with racism and racial injustice have been so heavily targeted in the past few years. Diving deeper into the content that censors find so objectionable seemed like a great way to find out!

For the best experience, navigate to "Start Here!" in the main menu and work your way left-to-right through the links. Thank you for visiting!

“The only way to undo racism is to consistently identify and describe it — and then dismantle it.”
